Me

What did you do this past week?

This past week, I basically did the usual — work, projects, studying, at-home workouts, and the like. I did enjoy some social distance approved time with some close friends…over Facetime, of course.

What’s in your way?

There’s nothing really in my way as of right now — I just need to get through the several tests I have this coming week, including those for SWE, and I think I’ll be okay. The year’s coming to an end, anyway. Other than that, I’d say the greatest thing in my way is my inability to manage my time, but hopefully I’ll continue to make progress on that.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will pretty much just be grinding through my tests and projects. I hope to get them done as soon as possible. This semester’s been pretty rough for me, so I’m hoping to see the end as soon as possible. My biggest concern is my Algorithms exam, so I’ll probably spend next week mainly preparing for that.

What was your experience of the presentations? (this question will vary, week to week)

I thought the ideas everyone had were really cool, but it was hard to pay attention to the presentations in my opinion, since not only were they fairly long, but each presentation covered almost the exact same things in the exact same order. In general, though, I enjoyed learning about all the cool things each group did.

What made you happy this week?

This week, I was happy to make progress in using my new productivity system (see below) and I was also happy to call and catch up with my friends.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Check out the Getting Things Done productivity system, and especially the edition for College Students written by Cal Newport — it’s done me a lot of good, and hopefully will continue to do so.
